New Italian film season begins on Monday 6 October

Modern Languages’ new Italian film season will begin on Monday 6 October 2014 with a showing of L’imbroglio nel lenzuolo (Alfonso Arau, 2010) in Lecture Theatre A, Avenue Campus, at 6:30pm.

The autumn season promises an inspiring selection of films, old and new, covering different genres and subject matters. All films are introduced in Italian by a tutor, a student or a guest speaker, and are followed by a brief discussion (in Italian and English). Most of the films have English subtitles, and some (marked with an asterisk below) have Italian subtitles.

This season also sees the launch of a new online forum, enabling film goers to exchange further comments and ideas on the films.

The films showing in the new season are as follows:

6 October – L’imbroglio nel lenzuolo (Alfonso Arau, 2010)
13 October – Basilicata Coast to Coast (Rocco Papaleo, 2010)*
20 October – Benvenuto Presidente! (Riccardo Milani, 2013)
27 October – Allacciate le cinture (Ferzan Özpetek, 2014)
3 November – Uomini contro (Francesco Rosi, 1970)
10 November – L’amore è eterno finché dura (C. Verdone, 2004)*
