New Italian Film season launches on 25th January

Italian flagModern Languages’ new Italian film season will begin on Monday 25th January 2016 with a showing of Io sono Li (Andrea Segre, 2011) in the new location of Lecture Theatre B, Avenue Campus, at 6:30pm.

The spring season promises another interesting selection of films that will inspire you and stimulate your interest in the world of cinema and Italian culture. There will be a screening every Monday upto and including 14th March. The full programme is as follows:
25 Jan – Io sono Li (Andrea Segre, 2011)
1 Feb – Salvatore, questa è la vita (Gian Paolo Cugno, 2006)
8 Feb – Il rosso e il blu (Giuseppe Piccioni, 2012)
15 Feb – Lezioni di cioccolato (Alessio Maria Federici, 2011)
22 Feb – Mery per sempre (Marco Risi, 1989)
29 Feb – Travolti da un insolito destino… (Lina Wertmüller, 1974)
7 Mar – La siciliana ribelle (Marco Amenta, 2009)
14 Mar – Si accettano miracoli (Alessandro Siani, 2015)

All films are introduced in Italian by a tutor, a student or a guest speaker, and are followed by a brief discussion (in Italian and English). Everyone is welcome, and the showings are all free of charge. Most of the films have English subtitles, and some have Italian subtitles.
