This film narrates the tumultuous and adventurous life of Michelangelo Merisi, known as “Caravaggio”. A genius of the Renaissance, who dared to defy the ideal vision of the world so typical of the painters of his time, he scandalized patrons and institutions with his radical naturalism by immortalizing the social outcasts he knew so well: drunkards, vagrants and prostitutes. This visually stunning film has scenes that are reminiscent of his paintings and make us see the world he lived in as he saw it.
