If so, you may be interested in reading a recent Higher Education Academy guide, written by modern languages entrepreneur and founder of Third Year Abroad, Lizzie Fane, and entitled ‘Languages and Entrepreneurship: A Guide for Students’. The report aims to support and inspire students who are thinking of starting a business based on their experiences with language, travel or culture.
University of Southampton was host to a successful HEA-sponsored seminar on the theme of internationalisation, entitled: ‘Globalising the university ‘at home’: implications and recommendations for the curriculum, staff and students’, on Wednesday 5th March 2014.

Five lecturers from the University’s Faculty of Humanities, including four from Modern Languages, have been recognised for their achievements in education. Dr Veronica Spencer (Film), Ali Dickens (LLAS) and Julie Watson (eLanguages) have been awarded Senior Fellowships of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and Kate Borthwick (LLAS) and Erika Corradini (LLAS) are now Fellows.
