Do you use social networking sites, virtual worlds or mobile technology with your language students? Are you engaging students in the creation or use of open educational resources?

If so, don’t miss this opportunity to submit your proposal for a presentation, workshop or poster for the 10th annual University of Southampton e-learning symposium, organised by the Centre for Language, Linguistics and Area Studies (LLAS), taking place on 22 and 23 January 2015. The deadline for submissions is Monday 13 October 2014.

Welcome to visiting staff from the University of Aarhus!

This week, the English Language section together with LLAS in Modern Languagesare hosting a course in Professional English for a visiting group of teaching staff from the University of Aarhus in Denmark. LanguageBox: A resource for language teachers and students

Language TutorTeachers and students of languages who wish to share and access teaching and learning materials online may be interested in LanguageBox, an open repository that allows storing, sharing and managing language learning resources, created by the University of Southampton. Language students can also find helpful learning resources. Over 30 languages are represented in LanguageBox.

Reshaping Languages in Higher Education Conference: A great success!

The two-day Reshaping Languages in Higher Education Conference run by LLAS at the Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton last Wednesday and Thursday was a great success! Over 120 delegates attended a variety of presentations and exhibitions.
